Be an exhibitor at this year’s CLM Annual Conference on June 3!

Join us as an exhibitor at our Annual Conference at Central Connecticut State University! This year's theme, "Unity and Belonging: The Power of Interconnection" will attract over 200+ museum professionals from across Connecticut and the region.

We will be offering a Marketplace Passport initiative that will encourage attendees to stop by all booths to get their passport initialed by exhibitors. Completed passports will be collected and entered in our chance drawing to win exciting prizes at the end of the day! Open Access Made Easy: How to Open Your Collections for Greater and Better Sharing

      Date: June 18, 2024 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Join us for a session developed by Creative Commons to learn about the open culture movement, the benefits of sharing your collections widely, and how your institution can “go open” responsibly.

CT Humanities is continuing their collaboration with Creative Commons to enhance the knowledge of intellectual property in the cultural heritage community in Connecticut.

The webinar will offer an opportunity for attendees to learn about the recent intellectual property work undertaken by CT Humanities, develop knowledge and skills in copyright and open licensing, understand the mission of Creative Commons and gain visibility among a global open culture community that stands for equity, sustainability, access, and better sharing.

We look forward to open discussion with people from around the state in an educating and engaging dialog about, open access, open culture/Open GLAM (Galleries, Archives, Library, and Museums), Creative Commons Licensing and how you can join the movement!

      Speakers:

        Brigitte Vézina
Director of Policy and Open Culture
        Creative Commons

Brigitte is passionate about all things spanning culture, arts, handicraft, traditions, fashion and, of course, copyright law and policy.  She gets a kick out of tackling the fuzzy legal and policy issues that stand in the way of access, use, re-use and remix of culture, information and knowledge.

Before joining CC, she worked for a decade as a legal officer at WIPO and then ran her own consultancy, advising Europeana, SPARC Europe and others on copyright matters.

Currently located in the Netherlands where she lives with her husband and two kids, Brigitte grew up living in eight different countries across North America, Africa and Europe but Montréal is where she proudly comes from.

Brigitte is a fellow at the Canadian think tank Centre for International Governance Innovation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the Université de Montréal and a master’s in law from Georgetown University. She has been a member of the Bar of Quebec since 2003.
