Friends and allies of the Connecticut League of History Organizations, Connecticut Humanities Council, Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation and Connecticut Historical Society are planning a “Rally Day” at the State Capitol on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8.

A very busy afternoon of activity is planned - and we need your help!  Fill a car load of history fans and join the fun to spread the word that Connecticut's history IS important!

The schedule:

1-2 pm    Briefing & comments from Connecticut Humanities, overview of issues, address from CTH and CHS Lobbyists, Room 1D of the Legislative Office Building

2-5 pm    Meet with legislators (schedule on your own, or join a group meeting coordinated by CTH and CHS Lobbyists

3 pm      Remarks, Hall of Flags

3:30-5 pm    Reception & Special Exhibition, Hall of Flags

Limited free parking is available in the Legislative Office Building parking garage (Monday to Friday) and on the north Capitol grounds.  Carpools are strongly encouraged.  It is suggested that you add 30 minutes to the time you normally would allocate to drive to the Capitol, park and get into the building.  If the LOB garage is full, here are other options: the CEA garage on Oak Street

http://en.parkopedia.com/parking/garage/cea_garage_capital_place/06103/hartford/ There’s a ProPark lot on Trinity Street.  There is a surface lot at the intersection of Pearl Street and Asylum Street in downtown, across from the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Arch.

Please allow time to pass through security (similar to airport security).
